As an employment consultant you will help people facing personal or health challenges to source, secure, and retain employment. Our employment consultants / kairapu tūranga mahi work alongside people to ensure they get the best from every employment relationship.

What does an employment consultant / kairapu tūranga mahi do?

As an employment consultant, you’ll work alongside people facing personal or health challenges, to help them source and secure employment.  

Do I need experience to work as an employment consultant / kairapu tūranga mahi?

We are looking for people with experience working in the social service, addiction, youth, mental health, disability, employment or other sectors that focus on improving peoples’ lives. Lived experience is also valued, as is experience providing support and services to Māori and Pacific people. 

Do I need any qualifications to work as an employment consultant / kairapu tūranga mahi?

It is preferred that applicants hold the New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you can commence free study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Workwise or Mahitahi Trust. We offer significant support to complete this study, so please feel free to contact us to discuss.
