We are pleased to announce some exciting leadership changes at Workwise.
It’s with enduring gratitude and appreciation that we say farewell to Warren Elwin, who has stepped away from his role as Workwise chief executive. A pioneer of the IPS employment support approach in Aotearoa, Warren was the first Workwise employment consultant in 2000. Warren is known for his commitment to supporting the employment aspirations of people experiencing personal and health challenges.
Warren is taking up an exciting new strategic project lead role within the Wise Group and will continue to be a strong advocate for employment as a health intervention.
We warmly welcome Tyron Pini, who is stepping up as Workwise interim chief executive. Tyron brings many years of experience to the Workwise team, with a focus on making positive social impact through employment and better understanding of mental health.
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter for myself and Workwise.”
With 30 years of leadership experience in the health, disability and community sectors, Tyron has always had a passion for social justice. He began with the Wise Group in 2007 and was a general manager for Workwise before taking on the chief executive role.
Tyron has led the development of IPS employment support by setting up new teams and integrations, along with presenting at conferences, championing progress and forging international relationships.
Beginning his journey as a social worker in the UK, Tyron moved to New Zealand over 20 years ago. This saw him continue working in the disability and mental health sectors, bringing his drive, motivation and new ideas to make a positive impact.
“I have been with the Wise Group for 18 years, including several roles for Workwise – covering various teams and regions across the whole country – and a secondment with LinkPeople, along the way. I’m very proud of the team leaders and teams of employment consultants whom I’ve worked with over this time.”
