Together with our partners Waitematā District Health Board and the Ministry of Social Development, Workwise embarked on a nine-month prototype where our employment specialists worked alongside community mental health teams in West Auckland to help people find and keep employment.
The objective of the prototype was to see if an IPS employment support service could reach good IPS fidelity within a nine-month time frame. A Māori mental health service (Moko) and general adult team (West Recovery) were identified for the prototype, with two employment specialists provided by Workwise.
The successful prototype was recognised in November 2019 with a Health Excellence Award, winning the Health Outcomes category – for teams or individuals who have improved care, patient safety or health outcomes for the Waitematā District Health Board population.
